The Tucson J Stingrays are always looking for new members! We offer 3 assessment dates at the beginning, middle, and end of each month. Sign up for an assessment date that works for your family.
Walk-in assessments cannot be guaranteed and may be turned away if an assessment session is at capacity or appropriate staff are unavailable.
How assessments work

Choose one of the three monthly assessment dates through the Tucson J.
Come ready to swim
Swim suit, goggles, and a towel are recommended. Youth, adult, and inclusive locker rooms and restrooms are available before and after.
Swim for the coaches
Your athlete swims a lap of each of the four strokes to the best of their ability.
Get a group placement
The coaching staff recommends the practice group that provides the best environment for your swimmer's development.

We practice at the Tucson J. Enter from River Road, by the Tucson Hebrew Academy. Park in the lot and come to the blue awning with a big J on it (the southwest corner of the parking lot). Press the button next to the door and the desk will buzz you in. Go straight down the hall and tell the people at the desk you are there for a swim team tryout; they will point you in the right direction.
